The noble and ancient history of Phoenix
has survived in the form of oral tradition. Who can say how much is
fact and how much is fable? The achievements of the members of
yesteryear will always be looked upon with appreciation, if not
detailed remembrance.
Phoenix Leaves the BRA
The Blue Rose Alliance, and all the clans therein, are overseen and
owned by Vswan. Until now, that has also included Phoenix. Vswan
became owner, though it was only intended to be temporary, in August 2006 while Descrom was away. In June of this year, Vswan's abilities to lead
Phoenix as well as leading all the other Blue Rose alliance clans was
called into question by some, but not all, of the leaders and members.
It was a difficult situation for both
owners and coming to a compromise was an ongoing struggle. It is
important to remember that all the leaders and owners wanted what was
best for Phoenix, but sometimes what we believe is best is conflicting
as in this case. In the end, it was decided that Vs would be removed
from clan ownership. Following the decision that he would be removed,
Phoenix was let go from the BRA due to our own conflict with the
leader of the alliance causing a conflict of interest as a member of
the alliance.
I am sure this has been difficult for the
members and leaders as well who along the way had patchy knowledge
about what was going on, and often felt stuck between friends who were
fighting. I know that this probably seems like a big change for
Phoenix members, some of whom were not prepared for this, but it will
settle down. You will now have to be careful of being PKed by former
alliance members though as we are no longer under the umbrella of BRA
protection. Likewise, we no longer need to worry about PKing them. For
now we are on our own. In time, we may find another alliance that is
appropriate for us and who will accept us.
Although many of us have friends in the
BRA we will miss, we hope that this will be best for Phoenix in the
long run. If you have any questions, please direct them to a leader,
who will answer you to the best of their abilities.
Clan Wars of 1.2
Once clans were allowed to be formed, and Phoenix was begun by our
great founders, it was inevitable that the handful of clans in
existence would come to blows. The clans were Enigma, Cabal, Phoenix,
and Dark Order and it was an age of clan player killing toggled on
across the board.
During the brutal clan war, Phoenix was
allied with clans Cabal and Enigma. Their common enemy was Dark Order
whose members would ruthlessly lie in wait to kill the younger weaker
members of the allied clans.
As much enjoyment was gotten by smiting
each other, and as much ill will was left after the strife, it had to
end. Dark Order slowly decayed, losing its members until they were not
in a position to defend themselves against the bigger clans. In the
aftermath, it became clear that the clan war was no longer a source of
amusement and we regretted the friendships that were laid to waste
between warring clan members.
